Focus on the star fashion ideas for this fall-winter
What coat with a long skirt
In principle, the long skirt is one of the most versatile pieces in our wardrobes. This means that you can combine it with practically any coat model. From streetstyle outfits to ultra-stylish and elegant outfits, the combinations are really quite varied. However, if you need a little help with your next spectacular vision, here are my tips not to neglect this season.
The timeless combo for a highly stylish look
Outfit with long monochrome skirt
According to Aimee Song, famous fashion blogger, “ Tonal dressing (wearing different shades of a single color) is a fantastic way to look stylish without a lot of effort“. This is why my first fashion suggestion of the day consists of opting for a monochrome look. Ideally, I advise you to settle on a trendy color, like burgundy or chocolate brown.

Outfit long skirt and coat of the same length
What is the best tactic to achieve a stylish look by combining a long skirt and coat? Generally speaking, it’s to opt for a coat the same length as the skirt. This way you get a neat and coherent outfit.
Balanced outfit with skirt and coat of the same length
Of course, if the exact match between the two lengths is not always possible. And, you can easily wear a coat that is slightly longer or shorter than the skirt. This subtle difference will keep you within the framework of a balanced outfit.
Long skirt and short coat look
Another winning strategy is to play the contrasts card. In other words, you combine the long skirt with a short coat, which gives a more proportionate effect to your look. Indeed, the contrasting combo draws attention to the hem of the coat, then that of the skirt, thus resulting in a visual elongation of the body.
Winter skirt with fitted coat or trench
In addition to straight and often oversized models, you can integrate a fitted women’s coat or trench into your classy outfit. The small accessory to tighten the waist will give balance to your outfit while giving it a more elegant and feminine appearance.
Coat of the same material
In addition to the length of the coat, you can also take into consideration its material. On this point, you always have different options in front of you. One of the most preferred alternatives is to choose the coat in the same material as that of your long winter skirt. Just like with matching sizing, the consistency of materials results in a balanced and very sophisticated look.
Association of materials
In fall-winter, there are some stars in terms of fabric that we see everywhere. These include suede, wool, tweed, leather or faux leather. Instyle experts confirm that wearing denim on denim is also a very relevant fashion tip.
Seasonal look in neutral colors
In addition to size and material, you will want to choose your coat correctly taking into account its color. Typically, during the cold months, we focus mainly on neutral and earthy tones. So, one of my personal favorite combos is gray and camel like in the example below. I love matching my camel coat with light gray or white clothes for a really cozy, autumnal look.
So, you can also consider a two-tone outfit by opting for a trendy shade and a neutral color. In the next photo, blogger Valdelilas combines black (as a classic shade) with a rich, warm shade of brown. The result is truly very chic and well matched, right?
